Sponge Gaskets Manufacturing Experts

Sponge gaskets are an alternative to natural rubber gaskets and are suitable for various applications, including those in which gas retention and water exclusion are important. We recommend foam gaskets for dust, powder, air and moisture retention, in low-pressure sealing applications, and for preventing parts damage.

Types Of Sponge Gaskets: Open Cell Sponge And Closed Cell Sponge

There are two main types of sponge gaskets manufactured across the world: open-cell sponge and closed-cell material.

Open-cell sponge gaskets have exceptional vibration resistance properties and are used for product protection, sound insulation and vibration damping. Natural rubber open-cell sponge gaskets are compressible and have excellent compression recovery properties. Air can pass freely in and out of cells, allowing them to reinflate once the pressure subsides, making them great for high-intensity applications.

Closed-cell structure foam gaskets have many foam chambers arranged in a lattice inside the main body of the foam. Connecting cavities do not share access to the external atmosphere. Therefore, they are suitable for sealing at low pressures. Closed-cell sponge gaskets can also be used for weather resistance and often come with self-adhesive backing to make them easier to install.

Our Range of Sponge Gaskets

Our Range of Sponge Gaskets

Here is a list of our sponge gaskets of different grades and sealing applications. We supply many sponge gaskets in a variety of foam materials and sheet sizes, depending on the application.

Class 0 acoustic foam corresponds to building regulations BS476 Part 6 and is suitable for sound insulation and noise reduction. This makes it ideal for construction industries. It has a fire propagation index of less than 12, resists mould and fungus growth, and has a thermal conductivity of just 0.346 BTU in/hr ft2 °F.

Neoprene sponge gaskets tend to have fair abrasion resistance, acoustic resistance, and vibration isolation properties. Like other closed-cell sponges, they also offer reasonable fluid, dust, and ozone resistance, making them suitable for various industrial applications. Under low pressure, they return to their original shape.

These gaskets are affordable and versatile, using a combination of sponge materials. Various grades come in almost any shape and offer excellent resistance to water and UV. This closed-cell sponge gasket has an ultimate elongation of greater than 160% and has some resistance to oils and acids.

We also offer a range of silicone sponge gaskets, including our blue silicone sponge and blue metal-detectable silicone sponge. The first is ideal as a sealing agent due to its stable chemical structure while the second contains food-safe particles designed to be picked up by metal detectors

Our PVC nitrile sponge gaskets offer users excellent fuel and oil resistance. The foam is also resistant to Class 0 flame retardants, making it excellent for door seals. Water absorption is 0.9% by volume after 28 days.

Different grades of expanded PU reticulated foam are often used in the ventilation industry, AC units, and cars. We supply gaskets with pore sizes ranging from 10 to 90 PPI.
